What personal data do we process?

We only process data that is relevant and necessary for the purposes below. Depending on your interactions with us, we may process the following categories of data:

  • Identification data (e.g., name, address, email, phone)
  • Financial details (for invoicing and payments)
  • Personal characteristics (if you provide them in forms or communications)
  • Usage/consumption data related to our Services (e.g., plan usage)
  • Professional information (role, company, VAT number)
  • Images/recordings (if you share screenshots or we record support calls with your consent)
  • Audio recordings (if support calls are recorded with your consent)
  • Technical/analytics data when visiting our website (e.g., IP address, approximate location, date/time, pages viewed, device/browser info)

Why do we use your personal data?

We process personal data to provide you with a safe, optimal and personalized experience:

  • Service delivery & support: account administration, troubleshooting, hosting & maintenance, ticket handling, client communication, and security.
  • Billing & administration: quotes, contracts, invoicing, payment follow-up.
  • Product improvement: optimizing our Services and user experience.
  • Security & fraud prevention: detecting and preventing misuse, errors or criminal activity.
  • Marketing (with your consent or legitimate interest): newsletters, offers, service updates, satisfaction surveys, and reviews.
  • Statistics/analytics: improving website performance and our offerings (aggregated/anonymous where possible).

Website visits may be measured for statistical purposes (e.g., IP address, approximate location, time/day, visited pages). By visiting our website, you agree that such metrics may be collected for functionality and analytics as described here and in our Cookie Policy.

On what legal bases do we process your data?

Depending on the situation, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR):

  • Consent (e.g., for certain marketing or optional cookies)
  • Contractual necessity (to provide Services you requested, including support and billing)
  • Legal obligation (e.g., tax/accounting retention)
  • Legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement, basic analytics, fraud prevention, security); balanced against your rights and freedoms

You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 9). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run our website, remember preferences, and improve performance. Non-essential cookies help us optimize your experience and remember technical choices.

For details (types, retention, and how to manage/disable cookies), please see our Cookie Policy. If you wish to use our website optimally, enable cookies in your browser settings; instructions for disabling are also explained in the Cookie Policy.

Who receives your data?

We process personal data for internal use within Sliced CommV / WPProtect.pro. We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data with trusted processors/sub-processors (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics, ticketing, or domain registries) strictly as needed to provide our Services, under data processing agreements and appropriate safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses where processing occurs outside the EEA, if applicable). For certain domain registrations, registry rules may require publication/transfer of registrant data—limited to what the registry requires.

We take legal and technical measures to prevent unauthorized access and misuse.

Retention

We keep personal data no longer than necessary for the purposes above, taking into account legal retention requirements (e.g., invoicing data). Exact retention periods may vary by processing activity.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR and applicable law, you have the following rights:

  • Access: obtain confirmation whether we process your data and access a copy.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: request deletion in the cases foreseen by law (e.g., data no longer necessary; consent withdrawn; unlawful processing; legal obligation).
  • Restriction: request limited processing in specific situations (e.g., contesting accuracy, pending objection).
  • Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests (including direct marketing).
  • Portability: receive the data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller where legally required.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, loss or disclosure. In the unlikely event of a personal data breach affecting your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and/or the competent authority (the Belgian Data Protection Authority – GBA/APD) as required by law.

Complaints and supervisory authority

If you have concerns, please contact us first—we’re committed to resolving issues. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA/APD):

Additional notes on user-provided data
